Adding Text to an Image

Introduction

Use the Text option to display a text note, containing a single line or multiple lines, on an image.

Annotations are copied between views that display the same image (same SOP instance UID).

Steps

  1. Right-click the image to display the image context menu.
  2. Select Annotations > Text. The cursor changes to a vertical arrow.
  3. Click on the image where you want to add your text.
  4. Add your text.
  5. Click outside the annotation when you are finished.

Results

Text is added to the image.

Additional Options

  • To add text to an image with a keyboard shortcut, press SHIFT + T.

  • Click Text on the icon menu.

Options for Editing Text

You can move, delete, or change the text information.

Steps

  1. Right-click the text. Synapse displays the text context menu.
  2. Change the text using any of the following options:

Do this ...

Delete the text

  • Right-click the text to display the text context menu and select DELETE.

Copy the text

  • Right-click the text to display the text context menu and select Copy text.

Move the text

  • Click the text and then drag it to another location.

Change the text

  • Double-click the text and change the text.
  • Click outside the text annotation when you are finished.
