Adding Screen Captures to a Synapse Chat Session
You can add screen captures to a chat session to provide a quick visual that provides clarity and understanding.
Note: You must be logged into Synapse through the Desktop Agent to use the screen capture function in the Synapse Chat Session window.
- Click Synapse Chat
. The Synapse Chat window displays.
- To add a screen capture to your chat, click Synapse Chat Screen Capture
to initiate the screen capture tool. Notice that your cursor changes to a +.
- Hold down the left-mouse button to select the screen capture. A red outline helps you see exactly what you are selecting.
- Click Accept
to add the screen capture to your chat session.
- Optional: Click Refresh
to clear your selection and begin again.
- Optional: Click Cancel
to cancel the screen capture, close the screen capture tool, and return to the active chat window.

Adding Snapshots to a Chat Session
With Synapse Chat and the Viewer open, you can add Snapshots from the Viewer to a chat session without leaving your active screen. This Synapse Chat feature provides you with a more efficient workflow in addition to the convenience of a live chat session.
- Open a study in the Viewer.
- Click Synapse Chat
. The Synapse Chat window displays.
- Click
located on the bottom of the chat session window.

Searching for Chat Session Information
There is no limit to the number of chat sessions that you can actively participate in. Use the Search bar in the chat window to easily locate a particular thread in a chat session. You can search your active chat sessions by chat title or by the names of other session participants.
- Click Synapse Chat
. The Synapse Chat window displays.
- Place your cursor in the Search bar and do one of the following:

Type to enter the name of the individual user or the role to search for an active participant.

Type to enter the name of the chat session to search for an active chat session based on its title.

Deleting a Chat Session
As a Synapse Chat owner, you can delete the entire chat session. Note that a session can only be deleted by the user who initiates the chat.
As a chat participant, you only have the option to remove the chat threads that you contribute to. Note that this action hides the chat session from your view only; other chat participants will still have access to the entire chat session.
- Click
Synapse Chat
. The Synapse Chat window displays.
- Hover over the chat session and do one of the following:

If you own the chat, you can click the Delete icon and select Yes to delete the chat session or No to keep it.

If you are a chat participant, click the Delete icon and select Yes to be removed from the chat session or No to remain active.

Adding a Saved Image to a Chat Session
You have the option to add saved images to a chat session. Supported file types include JPEG and PNG. You do not have to be logged through the Desktop Agent to add a saved image.
