Comment Groups

Comment Groups allow you to group comments together by dataset, phase, or tag, allowing for better report structure and clarity.

  • Dataset: A dataset is assigned to a Findings control and represents different fetuses. For example, a Fetal Echo Report for multiples might have Fetus A, Fetus B, and Fetus C as its datasets.
    • CRA always displays dataset headings in the CRA Workspace and report preview for the Conclusions Findings control.
  • Phase: A phase represents a stage or step of the diagnostic process. For example, a Stress Echo Report might contain the phases Rest, Peak, and Post.
  • Tag: A tag is assigned to a Findings control. You can use tags to define the order of findings in the Conclusions Findings control.

Datasets, phases, and tags are configured by your System Administrator.

Comment Groups in a Regular Findings Control

  • When you create a comment in CRA, you can add the comment to any available phase.
  • When you create or select a comment, CRA adds the comment into the configured phase subgroup. The phase subgroup is added in the order configured in Design Manager.
  • If you select a comment, the comment will only be available for the phase it was configured in.
  • CRA allows you to add duplicate comments in different combinations of datasets, phases, or tags.

Comment Groups in a Conclusions Findings Control

  • If you create a comment in the Conclusions Findings control, you can add the comment to any dataset, tag, and phase available for the Findings control.
  • If you select a comment for one dataset (for example, Fetus A), the comment is still available for other datasets.
  • If you select a comment for one tag, the comment is still available for other tags.
  • CRA uses the default tag selection "---." When CRA loads, Synapse scrolls to display the selected tab.
  • When you create or select a comment, CRA adds the comment into the configured phase and tag subgroup. The phase and tag subgroups are added in the order configured in Design Manager.
  • CRA allows you to add duplicate comments in different dataset, phase, or tag combinations.
  • If you want to add a comment without a dataset or tag, add the comment under the null dataset or tag (---).

Displaying Comment Grouping Headers

  • CRA uses grouping headers to categorize comments.
  • If your site is not configured to display tag or phase headings, CRA displays the headers in the report workspace, but not in the report preview.
  • CRA always displays the dataset headings in the report workspace and report preview.

Reordering Comments

  • You can reorder comments within a subgroup by dragging and dropping the comments.
  • You cannot move comments to other comment groups.

Reordering Subgroups

  • You can reorder subgroups by dragging and dropping the subgroups.
  • If your site is configured to use datasets, you cannot move a subgroup to a different dataset group.
  • When you reorder subgroups, CRA adds additional subgroups to the end.
  • If you reorder a dataset, CRA moves all subgroups belonging to the dataset along with the dataset.
  • After you reorder datasets, CRA adds additional datasets to the end.
  • If you delete all the comments from a subgroup, changes you made to the order no longer apply.

AutoSummary

  • Depending on your site configuration, AutoSummary routines might insert comments using datasets, tags, or phases specified in the AutoSummary script.

Report Carry Over

  • When you use report Carry Over, Synapse adds carried over comments to the appropriate Comment Group.
  • Comments from regular Findings controls in earlier Synapse versions will carry over to the new Findings control without a phase.
  • Comments copied to Conclusions Findings controls from earlier Synapse versions will carry over to the new Findings control without a phase and will then be copied to conclusions using the dataset and tag of the new Findings control.
  • Comments added directly to the Conclusions Findings control in earlier versions of Synapse will be placed in the new Conclusions Findings control without associated datasets, tags, or phases.

One-Click Normal

  • When you run One-Click Normal, CRA inserts preconfigured normal values into the appropriate Findings control without datasets, tags, or phases.

Macros

  • When you run a macro, CRA inserts the comments into the appropriate Comment Group using the configured dataset, tag, and phase in the macro definition.

Additional Information

  • If you have findings or comments that you do not want to put in a Comment Group, add them under the blank heading or subheading (-).
