Data Sources

Introduction

You can import data from external systems, such as a hemodynamic system, into the Synapse database to populate matching fields and controls within a report with the General Purpose Importer.

You can supplement imported data by manually entering data, using newly measured data or auto-generated data, to complete a report. If a diagram is used in a report to document clinical data, such as a Cardiac Catheterization or Invasive PV report, lesions or lesions treated with stents or grafts display in the diagram. If not already imported, you can manually add information about different treatments (balloon treatments), treatment attempts, and inventory.

Data that populates a report can have the following sources of information:

Data Source

Description

Entered Data

Data you enter directly into the Workspace pane report fields.

Measured Data

Data created as a result of an image measurement that is stored in the Synapse database includes:

  • A study image where a measurement was made
  • A specific frame within an image
  • Point placement information
  • Manual calibration information
  • User information about who measured or calibrated an image

Imported Data

DICOM or non-DICOM data that you import from an external system, such as the hemodynamic system.

Auto-Generated Data

Data that populates a report as a result of executing an AutoSummary routine, a One-click Normal routine, or a Macro.
