Displaying and Rearranging Thumbnails in PowerJacket

Introduction

Synapse provides the option to expand and display thumbnails directly in PowerJacket. When you click the View All Thumbnails icon, thumbnails for each study display in the study row, so you can quickly see which studies might have comparisons to choose from.

Steps

1. With PowerJacket open, click View All Thumbnails in the Studylist toolbar. All of the studies in the Studylist display thumbnails, including All images and Bookmarks series.

• Each thumbnail displays the same information as the Series Picker: series description, series, number, modality, and number of images within the series.

Note:

If no images are available for the selected study, the following text displays: No series available.

2. Click View All Thumbnails again to turn off the thumbnails display.
3. Optional: Double-click any series to open the series in the Series Viewer.
4. Optional: Repeat the previous step to open additional series in the Series Viewer.

Note:

Synapse displays thumbnails up to the end of the last column. If more thumbnails exist than there is room to display, an indicator displays on the right side of the thumbnails preview. Open the study to view all of the thumbnails. Thumbnails display until you turn off the option or log out of Synapse. Thumbnails for Enhanced Display datasource studies (that are not in the DICOM cache) are not available until the study has been manually retrieved. This applies to the All Thumbnails view for PowerJacket and the Worklist. A Not available for display message displays in the Worklist. A Retrieve Study option is available in the PowerJacket context menu when DICOM SCU studies are grayed out. See Retrieving Studies Configured for Enhanced Display.

Rearranging Series Thumbnails

If you have the Workstation Series Reorder permission, you can rearrange the series thumbnails and update the series order. Since changes are applied at the study level, all users who view the study will see the thumbnails in the order you determine. In addition to displaying the series reorder in PowerJacket, Synapse applies the updated display to the Viewer and the Worklist Series Picker.

1. Open PowerJacket, right-click a study to open the context menu, and select Open Series Picker.
2. Use your mouse to resize the series thumbnail window, (if necessary) and then drag and drop the series thumbnails to the preferred order. A Saved Successfully message displays to let you know your changes are saved.
3. When prompted, click the browser's Refresh button to apply the changes.

Note:

The following image types cannot be rearranged: bookmarked series, non-image DICOM series, and All Images series.
