Editing Base Vessel Diagrams

Introduction

The base vessel diagram for a study is the default diagram configured for the current report definition. When displayed, you can edit the diagram to better represent the vascular anatomy that is viewed during the angiographic procedure. You can delete, remap, and reposition the segment lengths within each vessel.

The vessel diagram properties panel is used to display imported data related to the diagrammatic findings and additional study information such as vascular anatomy, clinical findings, aneurysms, lesions, treatments, treatment attempts, and the inventory used for a treatment. You can edit the imported data and also manually enter new supporting data.

The properties panel has the following primary sections:

  • Segments
  • Aneurysms
  • Lesions

Steps

  1. Click items in a diagram that you want to edit.
  2. To edit a segment, click the artery segment that you want to edit.
    • Edit points display in the selected segment and the corresponding segment properties display.
    • The first and last points represent the boundaries of the segment.
  3. To edit any of the points, click and drag the point to the new location.
  4. To position the point in the new location, release the mouse the path of a vessel or for repositioning the segment boundaries.
    • Editing points that are common to multiple vessels or segments will affect those vessels and segments accordingly.
  5. To remove editing points from a vessel segment, hold the SHIFT key, click, and drag the point off of the vessel.
  6. To move the originating point of any vessel, whether an existing on a default diagram or a newly added vessel, hold the CTRL key, click, and drag the point.
    • When you move the origination point of a new or existing vessel segment, all vessel segments distal to the edited segment are also moved.
  7. To detach a segment from a vessel and reattach the segment to another vessel, hold the CTRL key, click, and drag a segment end point to another vessel.
  8. Click anywhere in the diagram background to accept the edit and remove the points from the vessel.

Results

If you make anatomy changes to a vessel diagram that is part of a patient study, including the repositioning of segments and the addition and deletion of vessels, grafts and collaterals, Synapse includes those changes in the base diagram for any new studies for that patient.
