Merging Two Studies
Introduction
Merging two study folders combines the study information, including images, into one folder. After the merge, Synapse moves the source study images to the destination folder and removes the source study folder. Synapse displays the relocated images with the destination study information.
The way in which Synapse merges Advanced Reporting (AR) studies might differ from non-AR studies.

Steps
- Navigate to System > Utilities > Content Management.
- If necessary, click Split Screen to change the display to split pane.
- Open to All Studies in two separate panes.
- Search using the Query By Example (QBE) fields to locate the incorrect study (source).
Tip: Enter the Accession number to ensure it is the correct study. - In the left pane, locate the source study (the study to be merged).
- In the right pane, locate the destination study (the study that will receive the merge).
- In the left pane, click, hold, and drag the source study to the destination study.
Results
Synapse transfers all the contents of the source study folder to the destination study folder. Synapse removes the source study folder (shell).
Advanced Reporting Results
For Advanced Reporting (AR) studies, Synapse moves the measurements and report data to the destination study.
Synapse moves the AR report only if the destination study does not have a report. Synapse does not move the measurements if the destination study is not an AR study.
Note: |
Before merging two studies, you must close both the source and destination studies in Synapse. |
