Retrieving Studies from SCV Archives

Introduction

Synapse provides you with the ability to retrieve studies from an SCV Archive that are disabled (grayed out) on an initial load.

When a study from an SCV archive datasource is available in the configured Synapse CV images location, Synapse displays retrieved content that includes reports, when applicable.

Prerequisites

COMMONVIEW for a SCV datasource must be configured in SWAT. See your System Administrator for more information.

About this Task

If Auto Compare is configured, studies that have not yet been retrieved will not be considered by the Auto Compare rules until studies are retrieved and the Viewer is refreshed.

Note:

Thumbnails for SCV datasource studies are not available until the study has been manually retrieved. This applies to the All Thumbnails view for PowerJacket and the Worklist.

  • A Retrieve Study option is available in the PowerJacket context menu when SCV studies are grayed out.
  • A Not available for display message displays in the Worklist.

Steps

  1. Open a home study or a study on the home datasource that has priors stored on the SCV datasource, with Archiver settings enabled in SWAT.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • In PowerJacket, double-click a grayed out study or right-click and select Retrieve Study from the context menu.
    • In the Viewer Studylist, double-click a grayed out study. When studies have fully loaded and are ready for display, they are no longer grayed out.
    • In the Worklist Studylist, double-click a grayed out SCV archived study. The Viewer displays the following message: Study retrieval in progress and may take time to display. It retrieves the study and displays it when the images are available in the configured Synapse CV images location.

    Note:

Once Synapse retrieves a study, it is available for any user until the configured expiration time. After that, the user needs to retrieve the study again.

Results

Once Synapse retrieves the studies, the studies are no longer grayed out and are selectable.
