Spine Label Overview

Introduction

Spine labeling is a semi-automatic process that lets you define the spine label annotations on an image. Spine labeling is not shared across series which have same frame of reference (FOR).

If an image contains spine labels from Synapse 4.x, Synapse displays these spine labels in a read only format.

Volume Spine Labeling

You can use volume spine labeling on 2D and 3D series. If you select the Volume option on the Spine Label palette, when you place a spine label on an image, Synapse propagates and displays the annotation in all spatially related planes, such as sagittal, axial, and coronal, with the same FOR. Volume spine labeling does not propagate to other studies because the studies have a different FOR.
