Using DICOM Transfer for Studies

Use the DICOM Transfer feature to transfer a study to another system.

  1. Open the Viewer and select one or more studies.

  2. Right-click the context menu and select DICOM Transfer. The DICOM Transfer - to Dicom Destination page displays.

  3. Ensure that the patient information in the Selected Items pane is correct.

  4. Click to select the option button associated with your destination selection.

  5. Click Start Transfer. The transfer status displays.

Using Study Search

The Study Search feature on the Viewer toolbar allows you to easily search a study, whether you are using a PACS (Worklist) or RIS (web query) workflow. Once you are finished viewing the study, you can easily return to the original study.

  1. Click Study Search. The Study Search window displays.

  2. Optional: Add additional datasources to search in.

  3. Use any of the available filters to define and refine your search.

  4. Select the study you want to view. The Study Search window automatically closes when the new study is opened.

  5. Optional: Click the x at the top right of the Study Search window or click the Study Search icon again to close it without performing a search.

  6. To return to your original study, click the Time Warp back button to return to the original study.

Drag and Drop from Series Picker to the Viewport

When you drag and drop a series from the Series Picker into a viewport, the viewport displays the first image of the series. The magnification of the series that you drag and drop into a viewport could be affected by the magnification of the series originally in the viewport. The following can affect the magnification:

  • Modality type
  • Orientation
  • Frame of Reference (FOR)
  • Link Zoom and Pan status

Changing Page Layout for a Single Monitor

You can modify the number of viewports that Synapse displays on a single monitor. A single monitor workstation will not have the span and repeat page layout options.

  1. Click Page Layout on the Viewer toolbar.

  2. Select the page layout you want.

Saving Snapshots

You can save Snapshots in two different ways:

  • User-created Snapshots are stored by default in the My Collections folder, but you also have the option of storing them in custom Collections folders that you create.

  • Auto-created Snapshots, which are configured in User Settings, save the image information for when you open the study again.

  1. Click Save Snapshot in the Viewer toolbar.

  2. Optional: Right-click Save Snapshot to display the Save Snapshot dialog box and do any of the following:

  3. Change the name of the Snapshot by entering a new name in the Name box.

  4. Change the folder location of the Snapshot by selecting a Collection from the Collections drop-down list.

  5. Save your changes by clicking Save.
