Adding a Lesion to a Vessel Diagram

Introduction

Use the Lesion tool or the Lesions control in the properties panel to manually draw lesions within vessels on the vessel diagram. In addition to native vessels, you can add lesions to newly added vessels and grafts.

Lesion properties in the properties panel are site configurable. See your System Administrator for more information.

Adding a Lesion with the Lesion Tool

Steps

  1. Click Lesion tools on the vessel diagram toolbar.
  2. Click the first point of the lesion.
  3. Click the second point of the lesion.
  4. Optional: Drag the endpoints to your preferred location.
When you drag a point near a bifurcated or trifurcated vessel segment, Synapse adds additional red dots that you can drag into the bifurcated or trifurcated vessel segments.
  5. Optional: Repeat steps 2 through 3 until you have drawn all the lesions.
  6. Click the Lesion tool or press the ESC key to turn off the Lesion tool.
  7. Note:

Synapse turns off the Lesion tool when you click any of the following:

    • A previously drawn vessel segment or lesion.
    • A callout for a different vessel segment or lesion.
    • The properties panel.

Results

Synapse adds the lesion to the diagram and displays a callout editor containing information specific to that lesion. Lesion properties display in the Lesions properties panel.

If the lesion spans multiple segments, the segment you click displays in the properties panel.
