Configuring MPR/3D Settings

Select an MPR option to display your preferred 3D projection, such as MinIP, when you open an MPR/3D series.

Path

Image Display > MPR/3D

Steps

  1. Modify the following settings as needed.
  2. Optional: When you finish configuring all settings, click Close.

MPR/3D

Setting

Description

Preferred initial 3D projection

Select one of the following options:

  • MPR
  • MIP
  • MinIP
  • AvIP

Enable Tumbling on Initial Display

Setting

Description

Enable tumbling

  • This setting turns on tumbling mode upon initial load of an MPR/3D series.
  • This setting is cleared by default.

Apply Sampling for Large Volume Slab

Setting

Description

Apply Sampling for Large Volume Slab

  • This setting improves performance when displaying large volume slabs, with minor decreases in image quality.
  • This setting is selected by default.
  • Note: Synapse always applies sampling when actively tumbling any size slab, even when this setting is off. If this setting is selected, large volume slabs with sampling have further sampling applied during tumbling.

Quadrant View Settings

Setting

Description

Show oblique line

  • If selected, Synapse displays an oblique line on each orthogonal tile in quadrant view to indicate the cut plane of the image in the oblique tile.
  • This setting is selected by default.

Show density

  • If selected, in oblique quadrant view, as you move the axes, the density value of the cursor point displays.
  • This setting is selected by default.

Plane Type

When you select quadrant view on an MPR/3D series in the Viewer, the plane type that Synapse displays depends on the selection below:

  • Orthogonal: Synapse displays the orthogonal quadrant view in which the orthogonal plane axes are fixed.
  • Oblique: Synapse displays the double oblique view. See Using the Double Oblique Function. This setting is selected by default.

Cross Reference Line

This setting determines the length of the cross reference lines that display on the tiles in oblique quadrant view.

  • Short: The cross reference lines are short, extending a short distance from the edge of the tile.
  • Long: The cross reference lines are long and extend close to the center of the tile. This setting is selected by default.

Oblique position

  • Click the quadrant to indicate where to place the oblique tile position when using quadrant view.
  • The default is the lower-right quadrant.

Results

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom-left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message that you must take the following action to apply the settings: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
