Using the Double Oblique Function
In MPR mode, you can perform the double oblique function in MPR quadrant view. The double oblique function allows you to view an image when it is tumbled on two different planes in oblique quadrant view. You can move the orthogonal plane axis and observe images from various perspectives for diagnosis.

Note: |
When you use the double oblique function in MPR Quadrant View, Synapse displays the same thickness value in all tiles to normalize the value for tumbling support. |
Steps
- Optional: Do any of the following:
If you want to do this...
Do this...
Open MPR view with the double oblique function.
- Right-click the image and select MPR/3D > Quadrant view or press 4. See MPR Quadrant Overview.
- Note: The oblique quadrant view opens in double oblique mode when Oblique is the Plane Type under Quadrant View in the user settings.
Return the MPR view to the orthogonal Plane Type.
- Right-click the image and select MPR/3D > Switch Plane Type.
Cycle through the image planes.
- Right-click the image and select MPR/3D > Cycle Planes or press / to cycle through the image planes. See Cycling Planes.
Display or hide the plane axes or oblique line in orthogonal quadrant view or oblique quadrant view.
- Right-click the image and select MPR/3D > Cross Reference Line or press the designated shortcut key.
In orthogonal quadrant view or oblique quadrant view, move the plane axes to observe images from various directions.
- To move the horizontal or vertical axis:
- Hover the mouse over the vertical or horizontal line until the cursor changes to a hand.
- Click and drag the axis to the preferred position. The axis moves or rotates in a corresponding manner in the other tiles.
- To move the horizontal and vertical axis at the same time:
- Hover the mouse over the cross point of the axes until the cursor changes to a crosshair.
- Click and drag both axes to the preferred position. The axes move in a corresponding manner in the other tiles.
- In oblique quadrant view, as you move the axes, the density value of the cursor point displays.
- Note:
- The orthogonal plane axes indicate the cut plane line of the image.
- In oblique quadrant view, the color of each orthogonal plane axis is different and corresponds to the color of the projection plane name in the top left side of each tile.
Hide the oblique line in orthogonal quadrant view or oblique quadrant view.
- Clear the Show oblique line checkbox in the user settings. See Configuring MPR/3D Settings.
Move the oblique line to change the images in the oblique tile to view images from various directions.
- Hover the mouse over the vertical or horizontal line until the cursor changes to a hand.
- The color of the oblique line in the orthogonal plane type is red.
- The color of the oblique line in the double oblique plane type is white.
- Click and drag the oblique line to the preferred position. The line moves in a corresponding manner in the other tiles.
- Note: The oblique line indicates the cut plane line of the image.
Tumble the image in MPR view with double oblique function to allow you to observe images in different ways, such as following the course of blood vessels.
- Tumble the image to rotate it. See Using MPR Tumbling.
- In the oblique tile, right-click the image and select MPR/3D, then choose from Coronal, Sagittal, or Axial to change the rotational plane.
- Note: Synapse synchronizes tumbling between tiles, so when you tumble an image in a tile, the tumble occurs in the other Orthogonal planes.
Results
Synapse displays the image in double oblique mode according to your preferences.
