Measuring Circumference

Use the Circumference option to measure the circumference of an area on a 2D ultrasound image.

Steps

  1. Right-click the image.
  2. Select Annotations > Circumference.
  3. Click the image where you want to begin the measurement and drag to the edge of the area.

Note:

Creation of a Circumference measurement is restricted to 2D calibration regions.

  • The Circumference option is unavailable in other regions.
  • You can only relocate a Circumference measurement within the region in which it was drawn unless it overlaps with another, valid 2D region.

Additional Information

  • Use the major axis anchor points (bright green) to rotate and resize the circumference annotation.
  • When you rotate or resize the circumference annotation, the opposing major axis anchor point remains in a fixed position.
  • The anchor points located on the sides are the minor axis points. Use the minor axis points to resize the circumference annotation.
  • You can resize the circumference annotation to change the major axis anchor points to the minor axis points by shortening the annotation so that the former major axis is shorter.

Results

As you complete the measurement, Synapse displays the circumference annotation in an ordered list in the Results overlay. Hover over an annotation in the Results overlay to highlight the annotation in the image.
