Modifying Patient Information

Introduction

You can modify existing patient information or add a new patient in Content Manager without going to an external system, such as the RIS scheduler.

Note:

  • You cannot use an existing accession or medical record number for the Patient ID.
  • You must select a patient for the Edit to display.

Prerequisites

You must have the Content Management privilege to access this tool through SWAT. Synapse logs all changes.

Updating an Existing Patient

Steps

  1. Double-click the All Patients list. Synapse displays the patient list.
  2. Select the patient you want to edit.
  3. Click Edit . The Edit Patient dialog box displays.
  4. Update the patient information.
  5. Click Save.

Results

The updated patient information is immediately updated and viewable in Synapse and Content Manager.

Adding a New Patient

Steps

  1. Double-click the All Patients list. Synapse displays the patient list.
  2. Click Add . An Add New Patient dialog box displays.
  3. Add the new patient information.
  4. Click Save.

Results

The new patient information is immediately updated and viewable in Synapse and Content Manager.
