Setting Your PowerJacket Column Preferences

You can easily adjust your column settings to best use screen space and set your preferred view, so it is available to you each time you open PowerJacket, that same Worklist, the Series Picker Studylist, or the Anywhere Series Picker Studylist.

  1. To change a column width, click and drag the vertical divider between any two columns to expand or collapse column size.

  2. To change the order of columns, press and hold down the left-mouse button on a column header and drag the column to the preferred location.

  3. To sort a column, click the column heading. You will see an indicator to show that the column is now sorted in ascending order.

  • Click the column again to sort in descending order.

  • Click it one more time to turn off sorting and return to the default sorting order.

Manually Selecting Comparisons

You have the option to select and display comparison studies belonging to the same patient when displaying a current study in PowerJacket.

When displaying studies for comparison, the current study displays in the Studylist with bold, italicized font. In addition to displaying in the view or pane in PowerJacket, the current and comparison study icons display in the Viewer and in the Studylist next to the Series Picker, so that it is easy to distinguish between current and prior studies.

  1. Click to select a study from the Worklist and use the right-click menu, or double-click a study to open the study in PowerJacket. The study displays the current study icon in PowerJacket.
  2. Select one study for comparison or press CTRL + click to select multiple studies from PowerJacket Studylist.
  3. Click Compare.
    • The current study displays the current study icon.
    • The comparison studies display icons that designate the order of comparison. Synapse organizes multiple comparisons based on the order in which you selected them and displays P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6 study indicators as needed.

Viewing Report Impressions

Report Impression is a summary of the diagnosis given by the radiologist, at the end of the full diagnostic report. By hovering over the Reports icon in the Worklist or PowerJacket Impressions column, you can preview the contents of the Report Impression and quickly review the pertinent information of a study without having to open the full report. The Impressions column will only display information if a report exists for the study.

Use this feature in conjunction with the Reason for Exam column contents to gain a quick, high-level understanding of the study.

  1. Navigate to the Impressions column. If a Report Impression exists for the selected study, the first 30 characters of the Report Impression display.
    • If more information exists, an ellipsis (...) displays. Continue to step 2.
  2. Hover over the Report Impression to view the additional information, up to 512 characters.
  3. Optional: Click to open the Reports pane and view the full report.

Printing Directly from PowerJacket

Print functionality is available within PowerJacket panes, giving you the ability to print notes and reports without leaving PowerJacket. Use this option to preview contents and send it to the printer of your choice.

  1. Within PowerJacket, click to select either the Reports pane or the Notes pane.

  2. Click the Print button located on the bottom right side of the pane. A print preview displays.

  3. Optional: Select any of the print options available on your printer.

  4. Click Print. The print preview closes, restoring your view of PowerJacket and the contents of the selected pane prints to the designated printer.

  5. Optional: Click Cancel to close the print preview without printing anything.

Displaying and Rearranging Thumbnails

Synapse provides the option to expand and display thumbnails directly in PowerJacket. When you click the View All Thumbnails icon, thumbnails for each study display in the study row, so you can quickly see which studies might have comparisons to choose from.

  1. With PowerJacket open, click View All Thumbnails in the Studylist toolbar. All of the studies in the Studylist display thumbnails, including All images and Bookmarks series.
  2. Click View All Thumbnails again to turn off the thumbnails display.
  3. Optional: Double-click any series to open the series in the Series Viewer.
  4. Optional: Repeat the previous step to open additional series in the Series Viewer.

If you have the Workstation Series Reorder permission, you can rearrange the series thumbnails and update the series order. Since changes are applied at the study level, all users who view the study will see the thumbnails in the order you determine.

  1. Open PowerJacket, right-click a study to open the context menu, and select Open Series Picker.
  2. Use your mouse to resize the series thumbnail window, (if necessary) and then drag and drop the series thumbnails to the preferred order. A Saved Successfully message displays to let you know your changes are saved.
  3. When prompted, click the browser's Refresh button to apply the changes.
