Graft Overview
Introduction
The Clinical Reporting Application (CRA) supports grafts, sequential grafts, and Y grafts.
Graft properties in the properties panel are site configurable. See your System Administrator for more information.
Graft Names
Synapse combines the vessel segment name for the starting anastomosis and ending anastomosis to create the graft name.
An example of a name for a single graft is:
pRCA to mRCA
An example of a sequential graft name is:
Seq Vein from RT pEIA to LT llA
An example of a Y graft name is:
Vein Y-graft to RT mSFA
Changing Graft Types
If you change the graft type, Synapse does not rename the main graft but does rename the dependent graft names.
An example of the name of the main graft is:
pRCA to mRCA
An example of Y graft name is:
SVG Y-graft to dRCA
If you change the main graft type to Radial, Synapse does not change the main name:
pRCA to mRCA
However, Synapse renames the Y-graft to:
Radial Y-graft to dRCA
Graft Type Options
Synapse bases the graft type on the origination point of the graft. You can change the origination point in the vessel diagram.
Synapse provides the following graft options, based on the origination point.
- Right Subclavian
- Right Internal Mammary Artery (RIMA)
- Left Subclavian
- Left Internal Mammary Artery (LIMA)
- Gastroepiploic
- Gastroepiploic Artery (GEA)
- Abdominal
- Autologous Bypass Grafts (ABD)
- Aorta
- Saphenous Vein (SVG)
- Radial
- Coronary Vessels
- SVG
- Radial
- Peripheral Vascular and Non-Invasive Vascular Vessels
- SVG
- Radial
- Synthetic
Graft Color Designations
Synapse displays synthetic grafts in the color green.
Synapse displays the following graft types in the color red:
- Artery
- Radial
- LIMA
- RIMA
- ABD
- GEA
Synapse displays the following grafts in the color blue:
- SVG
- Vein
