About Anomalies

Introduction

A critical role of the Synapse Systems Administrator is the identification and correction of system anomalies. Anomalies are discrepancies that occur in the Synapse study matching process. Synapse functionality allows the System Administrator to identify when and how anomalies occur, and provides tools to correct anomalies.

Anomaly Creation

When discrepancies occur in the data that is sent to Synapse from a DICOM source and an HL7 source, Synapse creates anomalies. The most common discrepancies include incorrect Accession Number or incorrect Patient ID. Incorrect data can cause errors in the Synapse Study Matching algorithms.

Note:

For more information about anomalies, see your System Administrator.
