Quick Start Guides

The Synapse PACS quick start guides (QSG) provide basic how-to instructions for many of the most commonly used functions in the various areas of the application. Each QSG includes links to the full topics, for more in-depth information. You can print these QSGs and keep them handy for quick reference.

Add Browser Support for Microsoft Edge

Synapse supports Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. You might find some minor functionality differences based on the browser you are using. Third-party hardware and software might also respond differently, based on your environment.

Synapse Browser Extension

The customized Synapse browser extension is needed to ensure maximum support for browser window management for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. This plugin manages issues around window positioning, repositioning, focus, resizing, and more.

Series Pickers - Split Scroll Bars Feature

Use the Split Scroll Bars Feature to display two scrollbars in the Series Picker and the Anywhere Series Picker toolbars, one for the current study and one for prior studies.

Series Pickers - Series Description Options

The new Series Description options adds the ability to hide series descriptions by modality.

Hybrid Mode for Worklist Subscriptions

If enabled, Synapse displays a progress indicator showing the percentage of images that are cached to your browser memory. When caching completes, the progress indicator no longer displays, and you can interact smoothly with the series.

New Context Menu Option

Use the new context menu options to initiate or delete an AI scan.

Right-click options revised for Sign Report and Skip Study buttons on Viewer Toolbar.

For the commands CTRL + SHIFT (Fusion) and SHIFT (Move) to work, you must hold down the mouse button first.

Close Button Setting

This setting allows you to specify the Image Viewer toolbar Close button behavior.

Synchronized Scrolling

To equalize the number of images as you scroll when prior studies have differing number of images, Synapse synchronizes the images by using the last image displayed multiple time.

Add Hybrid Support for all Remaining Features

Synapse adds support for all native Synapse functionality for server-side rendering. This feature includes, but is not limited to:

• 2D Slab Thickness
• Automatic Pixel Padding Value (PPV)

These were removed from the list of features that do not benefit from the use of Hybrid Mode.

Studylist and Series Picker Toolbar Enhancements

You can now pop out the Studylist to expand the viewing window. Additionally, you can move the Series Picker Toolbar to the top, bottom, left, or right side of the Viewer to more easily view larger studies.

You can also auto-hide the Studylist and Series Picker.

This feature ensures changes made in the Studylist and the accompanying Series Picker will also reflect in the Anywhere Series Picker.

Studylist Column Enhancements

You can now add and hide columns to the Studylist to provide more information. These enhancements provide columns in the Studylist with nearly the same functionality as columns in the Worklist and PowerJacket.

MPR Options

Synapse MPR/Fusion options and tools are now available to users with MPR/Fusion configured on their Desktop.

Updated User Settings

• Improved mouse scrolling
• Text Overlays

New Studylist Column

Users can display the new Archived Study Fetch column, which displays a progress indicator icon showing that the study is still downloading. This icon changes to a check mark once the study is completely downloaded.

This column is hidden by default but is available in the Studylist.

New Marker for CAD Studies

Synapse now recognizes and displays findings for a composite feature from a mammography study with CAD acquired by Hologic or R2. This specific marker displays when the CAD specifies a composite mass and calcification finding.

Vessel Diagram Properties Panel

Properties Panel options for the vessel diagram are site configurable. See your System Administrator for more information.

Updated Vessel Diagram Toolbar Icons

Use the vessel diagram toolbar to add graphical representations of new vessels, grafts, collaterals, lesions, and stents to the vessel diagram.

Vessel Diagram Browser Support

Vessel diagrams can be viewed in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Callout Editor

Synapse provides a callout editor for lesions and segments that enables you to quickly edit data directly on the diagram. Using the various options provided, you can use the callout editor to show, hide, or edit data in the callout.

Renaming Vessel Segments

You can rename user-created diagram figures, including vessels, collaterals, and grafts.

Stent Graft Support

The vessel diagram supports stent grafts, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR), and Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) in Invasive Peripheral Vascular (PV) and non-invasive vascular (NIV) vessel diagrams.

Lesion Support for Bifurcated and Trifurcated Vessel Segments

When you drag a lesion past a bifurcated or trifurcated vessel segment, Synapse adds additional red dots that you can drag into the bifurcated or trifurcated vessel segments.

Full Body Diagram Support

Synapse uses a full body diagram for Peripheral Vascular (PV) and Non-Invasive Vascular (NIV) vessel diagrams.

AutoSummary

AutoSummary does not overwrite user entered values.

Amend Preliminary

Amend Preliminary added to workflow options.

AutoSummary Carry Over

You can carry over AutoSummary findings from only one prior report into the current report.

Carry over rules have been updated based on DataDefinition, DataInstances, and place holder types.
